For those planning to participate in the National Workshop,
http://dataversity.org.nz/r/post/3UNrcTHhFlaLKdIW0oc9n2
here is a brief explanation of how the "work sessions" will go.
The work sessions will be held in small groups, with two or three
running in parallel. They will be 30 or 60 minutes in duration.
Each work session will focus on a specific topic, such as Field Data
Capture or Web-Based Community Monitoring. The current full list of
topics is at the following.
http://dataversity.org.nz/r/post/3UNrcTHhFlaLKdIW0oc9n2
The workshops will be focused on ways that participants can work
together to improve practices and systems, in the particular area being
addressed.
Work sessions will follow this process:
Report from each participant on where they are
up to, and what their challenges are.
Find opportunities to share existing practices and
systems with organisations that could benefit from
them.
Find areas where participants could work together
to develop practices and systems that could benefit
all participants.
Following the work sessions, each work group will report back to the
wider group on the opportunities they have found, and actions they have
committed to undertake.
In preparation for these work sessions, please choose the session topics
you are most interested in and familiarise yourself with the resources
that are already in the System Guide,
http://dataversity.org.nz/guide
and the conversations that are already under way on the topic. Search is
a good way to do that.
