As I described in my post on the Future of Dataversity, http://dataversity.org.nz/r/post/6TiKWO7v5tF9uAqCw2XUJG I plan to set up a management structure for Dataversity. I would like to involve the membership of Dataversity in setting up that structure. To do that, I am seeking volunteers to join an Interim Steering Team. Please let me know if you are willing to join the Interim Steering Team. The Terms of Reference for the Interim Steering Team are below. with regards,

Dataversity Interim Steering Team: Terms of Reference ===================================================== Datversity is approaching the end of its funded establishment phase, and is now in transition to a new structure that can support its ongoing functioning. The details of the structure are yet to be determined. As the new structure will be managed by the members of Dataversity, the new structure should be decided by the members. This will be likely to result in a structure that best meets the needs of members, and will be a step in shifting decision-making from TFBIS and Dan to the members. The purpose of the Interim Steering Team is to set up a structure for Dataversity, that can support its ongoing functioning. When that process is complete, the Interim Steering team will be disestablished. The Interim Steering Team will have around six members, who are Dataversity participants willing to act on the Steering Team. Dan will convene the Team. The Interim Steering Team will meet in an online group, and in a series of monthly teleconferences between July and December 2010. The key decisions of the Steering Team will be to determine the following. * Purpose and goals for Dataversity. * Scope of Dataversity. * Structure for Dataversity. * Funding strategy for Dataversity.
