Fauna of New Zealand
The Fauna of New Zealand is a monograph series, with approximately two new issues a year. 61 issues have been published to date. Each number contains a checklist of the taxa, an introduction to the group, descriptions of the taxa, illustrations - line and half-tone, and occasionally colour photographs. It was the first scientific series in New Zealand to have popular summaries in Māori and English.
Free pdf versions of 50 contributions (1-29, 40, 42-61) are currently available. Free XML versions of numbers 11, 21, 40, and 43 are also available in a project made possible through TFBIS (Terrestrial and Freshwater Biodiversity Information System) funding administered by the Department of Conservation.
